Harvest Christian Centre
Harvest Christian Centre is located at Kinoni, in southern Uganda, in the massive
Mabira Forest, and just a few miles south of the main highway between Lugazi and
Jinga, and not far from Lake Victoria. Although Uganda is landlocked, much of its
southern border is with Lake Victoria, and many of the villages are on the banks
of the lake.
The work at Kinoni is engaged in bringing the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
to the people of the forest area, and turning their rural existence from poverty
to abundance. Harvest Christian Centre is led by Bishop Chris Kaliisa, who is the
senior pastor of the church, which is the hub of activities at Kinoni. The Kinoni
testimony is to the amazing power of the Lord Jesus Christ, who changes lives from
hopeless despair to confidence and purpose. The whole project vibrates with enthusiasm,
the kind that can only be experienced by people who have discovered new life. Bishop
Chris heads up a group of churches in the area, and to cater for their need of leadership
training, he has founded the Shiloh Bible Institute, which is also located at Kinoni.
Another part of the ministry of Harvest Christian Centre at Kinoni, is a school
for local children. A couple of years ago Chris Kaliisa visited KLBC, and introduced
the work at Lugazi. Several members of the church sponsored children at the Mission
Orphanage there.
